Bali International Film Festival, also known and registered as Balinale, is recognized internationally for the diversity of its programming consisting of Indonesian and international independent and award winning fiction, documentary, feature and short films. Balinale’s theme in 2017 was, “connecting communities through the world of film.” It’s slated to present a program of films that project visions and dreams in a positive way, enabling greater exposure, tolerance and acceptance of countries and cultures. The main screenings of Balinale are at the Cinemaxx movie theatre, at the Lippo Mall Kuta. The annual BALINALE is held in Bali 24-30 September 2018. The festival promises to be an entertaining and exciting event in celebrating the art of global cinema with a series of pre-festival events held throughout Indonesia. Presenting all genres of mainstream, independent, documentary and short films from Indonesia and around the world many with visiting filmmakers in attendance. We proudly hosted American Film Showcase (AFS) Film Connect Tour and Sundance Institute Film Forward for the first time in Indonesia and supported by US Embassy – Jakarta.
